Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is located on central Vancouver Island 3 km south of Parksville on Highway 19A. The park features over 2 km of sandy beach with campsites within a five-minute walk. The park encompasses 348 hectares and includes over 5 km of hiking trails passing through Douglas fir, cedar, and alder forest, meadow, marshland, and oceanside walkway. At low tide, the ocean recedes almost a kilometre. The park offers 225 campsites, 4 group sites, 25 walk-in tent-only sites, 2 picnic shelters, a nature house, gift shop, and concession. Facilities include 4 shower buildings, 2 flush bathrooms in the day-use area, and a sani-station. Recreational activities include hiking, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, bicycling, windsurfing, and interpretive programs. Pets on leash are permitted. Camping is available year-round, with peak season from May to September. Reservations are recommended and can be made through the BC Parks Reservation System.
