Overview This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Additional Info: Primrose Landing Forest Service Campground sits at Mile 17 of the Seward Highway near Kenai Lake in Chugach National Forest, offering 8 wooded sites suitable for tents and RVs (no hookups). Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the campground features vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, fire rings, and a boat ramp. Each site includes a picnic table. The campground is open May to September. Activities include fishing for Dolly Varden, lake trout, and rainbow trout, as well as hiking the 7.5-mile Primrose Trail to Lost Lake. Located about 1.5 hours south from Anchorage and 30 minutes north from Seward.
