Preacher Meadow Campground

Preacher Meadow Campground is a quiet, serene campground located in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, approximately 1 mile south of Trinity Center off State Route 3 and about 30 miles from Weaverville. The campground features 44 sites in the first loop (second loop with 16 additional sites generally remains closed) set in a forested area on a hill above Swift Creek. Sites are spacious and can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 45 feet. Each site has a picnic table, stone fire ring, and Klamath Stove. The campground has vault toilets and no potable water. Amenities include a campground host, trash collection, and firewood available for purchase. A horse corral installed in 2022 can hold up to 16 animals. The campground is popular with hikers accessing the nearby Swift Creek trailhead and equestrian users. Trinity Lake is approximately 6 miles away. State Route 3 traffic noise can be heard in the campground. Cell phone coverage is limited. The campground opens the week prior to Memorial Day Weekend and closes October 31st. First-come, first-served basis; $20 per night for a single site. Dogs must be on a 6-foot or shorter leash.
