POWELL SPRINGS CAMPGROUND (Campground) Additional Info: Powell Springs is a free, first-come-first-served Forest Service campground in Prescott National Forest at 5,300 feet elevation. The campground features 11 designated campsites with picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets. Ponderosa pines, junipers, oaks, and manzanita provide shade and riparian vegetation grows along seasonal Hackberry Wash. The campground was historically built by the CCC. No drinking water, garbage service, or cell service is available. Pets are allowed. The site may close during heavy rain, snow, or icy road conditions. Contact Verde Ranger Station at 928-567-4121 for current status. Access via Cherry Road (Forest Road 372), approximately 9.5 miles from Highway 169 near Dewey, Arizona.
