Pond Pitch Campsite is a primitive backcountry site in Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument along the East Branch of the Penobscot River. Accessible only by hiking or biking 3 miles south from Haskell Gate on the International Appalachian Trail, or by paddling the river. Features a fire pit and picnic table. No potable water, toilets, vehicle access, cell service, or trash service. Free with Recreation.gov reservation required. Pets allowed on leash. Campfire permit required from Maine Forest Service. Practice Leave No Trace.
