Poison Butte Campground
About this site
Poison Butte Campground is a BLM-managed campground with 5 first-come, first-served campsites located along the scenic Lower Crooked River in Oregon's high desert. The campground is open year-round and accommodates tents, trailers, and RVs up to 28 feet. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Amenities include vault toilets and trash receptacles. Potable water is available during spring and summer months at nearby Big Bend Campground, 0.9 miles south on State Highway 27. Cell service is not available. A day-use/picnic area is also located at the campground. The terrain features rugged landscapes with river views and access to a short riverside trail. Nearby attractions include Prineville Reservoir State Park and Ochoco National Forest. Additional Info: Fee: $8 per night; $2 per extra vehicle (maximum two vehicles per site). No reservations accepted. ADA accessible facilities are not available. Watch for bicyclists on State Highway 27, which is designated as the Crooked River Canyon Scenic Bikeway.
