POINTY KNOB SHELTER (Camping Area) Additional Info: A 6-person Adirondack shelter located on the west side of Pointy Knob Trail in the Canaan Mountain Backcountry. Available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shelter is situated at approximately 4,145 feet elevation on a high elevation plateau. Potable water is not available at this site; purify all water or bring your own. Access via Pointy Knob Trail, a 5.4-mile loop trail south of Canaan Loop Road.
