POCKET RECREATIONAL AREA (Campground) Additional Info: The Pocket Recreation Area is located within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in northwest Georgia, situated in a low-lying area between Horn and Mill Mountains. The campground features 26 sites in a forested setting, each with a paved parking spur, gravel tent pad, picnic table, lantern post, and fire ring with grill. Sites accommodate tents and RVs up to 28 feet. The area is named for its unique geography formed by limestone dissolution. Potable water and restrooms are available. The campground is open April 1 through October 31 and operates on a reservations-only basis through Recreation.gov. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Alcohol is prohibited throughout the recreation area. Activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, and trout fishing in nearby Johns Creek.
