Plomosa Road BLM
About this site
Plomosa Road BLM is a free dispersed camping area on public Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land north of Quartzsite, Arizona, approximately 5 miles north of town off Highway 95. Hundreds of open campsites are available on both sides of Plomosa Road stretching for about 7 miles into the desert, accessible by vehicle with dirt tracks branching off. A 14-day camping limit applies, enforced by rangers and camp hosts who issue free permits; campers must move to a new site after 14 days. No hookups, dump stations, showers, or drinking water are available; pack in and pack out. The area is year-round but extremely hot in summer. Cell service is reliable. Big rigs can fit on level sites, though some tracks require high clearance. Avoid low areas near washes due to flash flood risk. Additional Info: - Managed by BLM with rangers patrolling. - Nearby paid Long Term Visitor Areas (LTVAs) like La Posa offer amenities for a fee.
