Oyster Bay Chickee #1 is a backcountry chickee camping platform in Everglades National Park, located along the Wilderness Waterway about 18 miles north of Flamingo via Whitewater Bay. It features an elevated wooden platform with roof, recently renovated with new planks and roofing, and a portable toilet. Accessible only by boat through wetlands and mangroves. Reservations required via permit; pets not permitted. Additional Info: Positioned next to mangroves facing eastward into prevailing winds; no-see-ums present at dusk and dawn.
