About this site

Outlaw Cave Campground is located in the Middle Fork Powder River Recreation Area, a remote area of red walls and deep canyons historically associated with Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch. The area features two caves, a historic corral, and the Middle Fork of the Powder River. The campground offers 12 rustic, first-come first-served camping spaces and one vault toilet. There is no water, no trash service, and no hookups; pack out all garbage. The site is accessible by high-clearance vehicle via Bar C Road. Road closed January 1 through April 14 for winter wildlife protection.
