Open Pond Recreation Area

Open Pond Recreation Area is a first-come, first-served campground in Conecuh National Forest near Andalusia, Alabama. The facility features 74 campsites including both primitive tent sites and RV sites with water and electric hookups ($16/night). The campground is centered around a stocked fishing pond with a historic 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps shelter. Amenities include shower houses, drinking water, restrooms, dump station, and 30-amp hookups. The area offers hiking and mountain biking trails, including connections to the 12-13 mile Conecuh Trail system, fishing, boating, and swimming. Paved roads throughout make the campground accessible for larger RVs. A camp host is on-site to assist visitors.
