Okontoe Family Campground and Christian Retreat Center is a Christian non-profit ministry campground located on 80 acres of pristine northwoods forest on the Gunflint Trail, 28 miles northeast of Grand Marais, Minnesota. The facility offers 32 spacious campsites and six rustic retreat cabins alongside private Bow Lake (non-motorized). The property is surrounded by Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Amenities include a swimming beach, free canoes, and kayak rentals ($5/hour). The campground hosts Saturday night community campfires (7:30 pm) and Sunday morning chapel services (10:00 am). The facility is alcohol-free and family-friendly with quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. A retreat center with dining hall is available for group rentals (20-26 people) from mid-May through October 31. The campground is approximately 4.5 hours from the Twin Cities.
