North-South Lake is the biggest and most popular state campground in the Catskill Forest Preserve, offering extraordinary scenic beauty and historical sites such as Alligator Rock, Kaaterskill Falls, and the former site of the Catskill Mountain House. Contains 219 tent and trailer sites in seven camping loops with access to two lakes, two beaches, two picnic areas, a playground, flush toilets, hot showers, a boat launch (no motorized vessels), boat rentals (rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats), firewood sales, volleyball, horseshoes, fishing, a playing field, a trailer dump station, and a recycling center.
