Noontootla Dispersed Area
About this site
Noontootla Dispersed Area encompasses multiple primitive camping sites along Forest Service Road 58, which follows Noontootla Creek through the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Fannin County. Located about 20 miles south of Blue Ridge, this gravel forest road climbs through dense forest alongside a clear-running trout stream known for its cascades and small waterfalls. The dispersed camping sites are scattered along the road, with some of the most desirable spots positioned right on the creek. Several sites feature tent platforms, making setup easier on the sloped mountain terrain. This area is within the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area and attracts hikers, mountain bikers, and anglers. The road continues upward to Three Forks, where Stover, Chester, and Long Creeks converge to form Noontootla Creek. Yellow signs mark areas where camping is prohibited. As a dispersed camping area, visitors should expect no amenities and must practice Leave No Trace principles, including packing out all trash and using existing fire rings where available. Additional Info: Open year-round for dispersed camping on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations or fees required. Fires allowed. Accessible via gravel FS Road 58 from Blue Ridge.
