Newberry Group Campground
About this site
Newberry Group Campground is the only exclusive group camping area within Newberry National Volcanic Monument, situated along the south shore of Paulina Lake in Deschutes National Forest. Located within the collapsed caldera of Newberry Volcano, the campground offers a unique geological setting. The three separate group sites accommodate groups of 35 to 50 people each and feature paved roads and parking areas. Amenities include potable water, toilets, picnic tables, and campfire rings. The Paulina Lakeshore loop trail passes through the campground, offering a 7-mile stroll around the lake with opportunities to view bald eagles, osprey, common loon, and other waterfowl. Boating, bicycling, bird watching, and sightseeing are popular activities throughout the year.
