Nelson Creek Recreation Area is a free, primitive, first-come first-served camping area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Big Dry Arm of Fort Peck Lake in Montana. It offers dispersed-style camping with no reservations required. Sites feature picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets available. A boat ramp provides lake access for fishing and boating. The access road is hard-packed dirt, suitable for most vehicles. Popular sites like 1001-1003 offer good scenery and space for multiple RVs. Open year-round with a 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period. Additional Info: Cattle may roam through the area. Cell service (Verizon 4G) available at some sites. No hookups, water, showers, or dump station.
