Navajo National Monument Canyon View campground
About this site
Canyon View Campground is a primitive tent campground at Navajo National Monument with 14 campsites located on an unpaved gravel road about a tenth of a mile from the visitor center. The campground sits along the canyon rim at 7,300 feet elevation with juniper and piñon pine trees providing natural spacing between sites. Campers enjoy spectacular night skies and silence. Each site has a picnic table and charcoal grill. Composting toilets are available, but there is no drinking water (water is available at nearby Sunset View Campground). The campground is closed during winter months and is intended for tent camping. Large RVs over 28 feet are not allowed. Camping is limited to seven days per visit and 14 days per year. Pets must be on a leash. Campfires and wood fire use are not allowed; propane and gas stoves are permitted unless prohibited by Navajo Nation Fire Restrictions. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am. Camping is free and first-come, first-served.
