Morefield Campground
About this site
Morefield Campground is the sole camping option within Mesa Verde National Park, located four miles from the park entrance. The 267 campsites are situated within a high-elevation, grassy canyon filled with Gambel oak, native flowers, deer, and wild turkeys. Each site has a picnic table, gravel tent pad, and fire pit/BBQ grill. Most sites accommodate dry camping without hookups, though a limited number offer full utilities in the Ute Loop. The camp store complex includes a Sinclair gas station, free showers, and coin-operated laundry facilities. WiFi coverage reaches throughout the campground, with stronger signals near restroom buildings, though cell service remains spotty. Dump stations and fresh water fill points serve RV campers. The campground allows alcohol and provides firewood when available, though fire restrictions may apply during dry periods. Reservations through Aramark are recommended, though site selection within loops operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground operates from mid-April through October and closes completely during winter months.
