Moore Lake Campground
About this site
Moore Lake Campground is located at Moore Lake, a moderately sized 14.3-acre glacial cirque lake in the South Fork Little Joe Creek drainage of the St. Regis River watershed. Situated at 5,316 feet elevation in the Superior Ranger District of Lolo National Forest near the Idaho border, this semi-remote location provides a peaceful mountain lake setting. The lake is one of several drive-to upper elevation lakes in the Superior District. Moore Lake offers fishing opportunities in a scenic mountain setting surrounded by forested slopes typical of the Northern Rockies. The high elevation and remote character make this a destination for campers seeking solitude and backcountry atmosphere while still being accessible by vehicle. Additional Info: There is ample room for camping and a USFS latrine. A trail circles much of the lake. Heavy use occurs; leave no trace camping encouraged. Typically accessible summer through early fall depending on snowpack.
