This is a free, developed campground operated by Lincoln National Forest. It's effectively two camping areas. both small. The more popular is the gravel parking lot where there are two tent sites with picnic tables and fire rings, and the other is a dirt area, used as an overflow campground, about 0.3 mile before the parking lot. Additional Info: The campground sits at approximately 9,590 feet elevation in the Smokey Bear Ranger District. Pit toilets are available. There is no drinking water; visitors must bring their own. The area offers access to Monjeau Lookout, a historic Civilian Conservation Corps lookout tower with panoramic mountain views, and nearby hiking trails. Wildlife including wild horses and deer are common in the area.
