Merced Lake Backpacker Campground is a shady, wooded backcountry camp located on the far east side of Merced Lake, accessible by approximately 14 miles of steep hiking from Yosemite Valley or Tuolumne Meadows. It features pre-existing fire rings near bear boxes and backcountry toilets. The adjacent High Sierra Camp offers tent cabins but is separate.
