Memaloose State Park is a popular Columbia River Gorge campground located off Interstate 84 near Mosier, offering 109 campsites nestled among tall maples, willows, and cottonwood trees. The campground includes 43 full-hookup RV sites and 66 tent sites, with some sites providing wonderful river views. The park's location provides convenient access to Hood River and surrounding gorge attractions, as well as the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. Campers should note the park's proximity to Interstate 84 and an active rail line means train and road noise can be heard at all hours. The park is ideal for families seeking to explore the Columbia River Gorge, with nearby hiking, fishing, and scenic viewpoints including the Memaloose Overlook on Highway 30. On summer nights, the cool grass and open meadows around the campground provide excellent spots for stargazing. The campground operates with a maximum stay limit of 14 nights within any 17-night period. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance through oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com.
