Built on AMC conservation land and located at the confluence of Second Roach Pond and the Roach River, seven miles from Kokadjo and northeast of Greenville, Medawisla Lodge and Cabins is part of the Appalachian Mountain Club's Maine Wilderness Lodge network in the famed 100-Mile Wilderness. The facility features eleven cabins (accommodating 5-6 people each) and two bunkhouses (accommodating up to 16 guests). Cabins include kitchenettes and some have private baths while others use shared bathhouses. Amenities include fresh-cooked breakfast and dinner, trail lunch service, and free access to watercraft including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Activities include hiking, paddling, fly fishing, canoe camping, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Winter drive-in access is available, and lodge-to-lodge skiing opportunities connect to Gorman Chairback and Little Lyford lodges via 80 miles of groomed trails. Dogs are welcome during winter season.
