McDowell Nature Preserve Campground offers 56 campsites including tent, RV with full hookups (electric, water, sewer), and primitive sites in a wooded setting on Lake Wylie. Amenities include bathhouses with private showers and toilets, laundry facilities, playground, and a gated entrance. The preserve features over 7 miles of trails, picnic areas, boat ramps, fishing, and proximity to Charlotte. Check-in at 3 PM; firewood and supplies available until 4 PM. Rates around $15 resident/$19 non-resident.

This is a terrible place. Don’t go. I’m kidding this place is a gem. Spacious spots, clean bathrooms, and the tent camping site is separate of the RV sites (why don’t more places do this!!). Really great and look forward to going back
