  The lake has been empty for years and the FS doesn’t maintain the campgrounds, most of the water faucets have been frozen and leak and many of the electric connections have burn marks indicating a bad connection. The “ grassy” areas are full of stickers in the fall. The great thing about this place is it’s closeness to I40 and it’s isolation, the east side campgrounds are usually empty and quiet, the ones on the west side are used by people who have ATVs and are usually a little busier. The water available in the campground tastes good but the connections for your hose will probably leak so you will need to fill your tank and then turn the faucet off. There is also a dump station near the entrance.
