About this site
McClendon Spring Campground sits 5 miles northwest of Malta in Idaho's high desert, offering 5 primitive sites beneath the ancient Cotterel Mountains at 4,849 feet elevation. The campground is free and lightly visited, with vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. The rough dirt access road requires a high-clearance vehicle and has deep potholes that challenge low-clearance trailers. Located on the historic California Trail and managed by the BLM.
