About this site
Maycroft Provincial Recreation Area is situated right off of Hwy 22 (Cowboy Trail), along the banks of the Oldman River in southern Alberta's open prairie with Rocky Mountain views. It offers 10 unserviced campsites suitable for tents and RVs, with firepits, vault toilets, and a non-potable water pump (for fire extinguishing only; bring your own drinking water). First-come, first-served with self-registration fee payment. Opportunities for fishing, canoeing (hand launch), and hiking nearby. Sites are closely spaced and open; some small sites best for tents, larger ones for modest RVs.
