Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a private, family-friendly campground with 36+ wooded sites for tents and RVs up to 42 feet, located on the East Branch of the Penobscot River, 1.5 miles from Baxter State Park's north entrance. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Amenities include coin-operated showers, daily-cleaned privies, free dump station for guests, and pet-friendly policy ($10 fee, leashed). Reservations available. Additional Info: Price per campsite $35/night for family (2 adults + children 17 and under), $5 per additional adult (9% tax extra). Dumping station for registered guests only. Check-in at store required.
