Mallet Pond
About this site
Mallet Pond State Forest is a 2,584-acre state forest located in the Towns of Summit and Fulton, Schoharie County, New York. There are no designated campsites; however, primitive camping is allowed. Campsites must be at least 150 feet away from the nearest road, trail, or body of water. The forest is rugged and remote, featuring rough dirt roads, two ponds, and extensive land to explore. The pond was built in 1976 by the New York Power Authority as mitigation for fisheries impacts from the nearby Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project. Open year-round and free to use.
