MAGRUDER (Camping Area) Additional Info: Magruder Crossing Campground is located on the Selway River in the Bitterroot National Forest along the remote Magruder Corridor Road. The campground features 6 campsites and is free with first-come, first-served access. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days. The site includes picnic tables, vault toilets, and stock facilities. RVs and trailers up to 30 feet are accommodated. The campground typically opens in late spring and closes when snow makes the road impassable in late fall or early winter. The area provides access to the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and is historically significant as a gold rush-era crossing route between Lewiston and Virginia City.
