MAGRUDER (Camping Area) Additional Info: Magruder Crossing Campground is located in Bitterroot National Forest along the Selway River near Darby, Montana. The campground features 6 campsites and is situated at a historically significant site on the Magruder Corridor, which was established as a commerce route between Lewiston and Virginia City during the gold rush. The Southern Nez Perce Trail crosses the road to the north of the campground. The surrounding area provides access to the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and Middle Fork Clearwater Wild and Scenic River. The campground typically opens in late spring and closes when snow blocks the access road in late fall or early winter.
