Lower Tapeats Campsite (AW8) is a designated backcountry campsite in Grand Canyon National Park along the Colorado River at Tapeats Creek, accessible only by multi-day backpacking via Tapeats Creek trail or by permitted river trip. It offers primitive camping with no developed facilities, potable water, or amenities. Advance backcountry permits are required from the National Park Service. Additional Info: Lower Tapeats is located approximately 2.5 miles downstream from Upper Tapeats Campsite (AW7) on the west side of Tapeats Creek. Camp at the tent symbol sign.
