Backcountry camping at Lower Larch Lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Accessed via an approximately 12-mile hike up Chiwaukum Creek Trail to the North Fork Chiwaukum Trail junction, then 6.2 miles to the lake, or via Scottish Lakes High Camp. The lake is surrounded by larch trees with meadows of lupine and asters in summer, and offers glassy reflecting pools and schist boulders nearby. Nice campsites are available along the shoreline at nearby Chiwaukum Lake.
