Lower Jones Valley Campground

Lower Jones Valley Campground is located on the Pit River Arm of Shasta Lake within Shasta-Trinity National Forest, approximately 15 miles north of Redding, California. This small, intimate campground is situated in a canyon adjacent to the lake and offers 9 single sites and 2 double sites, each equipped with a paved parking spur, tent pad, raised fire ring, bear box, and picnic table. The average back-in parking spur is approximately 30 feet. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and trash service. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations; visitors must physically be present to claim a site and occupy it the same day payment is made. The campground is open year-round and 24 hours per day. A public boat ramp is located about 1 mile away at Jones Valley, offering access to the lake for water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing. Lake Shasta is renowned for its diverse fishing opportunities, including trout, catfish, Chinook salmon, crappie, bluegill, white sturgeon, brown bullhead, and bass. The nearby Clickipudi Trail provides hiking opportunities.
