Lower Hyalite Group Site
About this site
Lower Hyalite Group Site is a group campground located in scenic Hyalite Canyon on the Bozeman Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest, just nine miles south of Bozeman, MT. The group site can accommodate up to 100 people and is available for overnight camping or day-use picnicking. The site sits next to Hyalite Creek at an elevation of 5,000 feet, surrounded by a forest of fir, pine and spruce trees. A large shelter is on-site with picnic tables and a campfire ring. Vault toilet provided. Drinking water and trash collection are not available at the campground; campers must bring their own water and pack out all garbage. No shower facilities are available. Firewood is available at Langohr campground for $10.00 per bundle. The gate will be unlocked but closed on day of arrival; if assistance is needed please call 623-910-0170. Hyalite Canyon Road (Forest Road 62) is closed to all motorized use annually from April 1 through May 16. Pallet fires are not allowed. An additional fee will be collected at the campground if the number of people listed on the reservation is exceeded. Additional Info: The surrounding area offers many outdoor recreational opportunities, including fishing, hiking and climbing.
