Lower Clarno Rapids is a Class III/IV rapid on the John Day River in the Clarno to Cottonwood segment. Primitive boat-in camping is available on river right. The area is part of the Wild and Scenic River corridor managed by BLM, with dispersed camping on public lands. No facilities at the rapid; nearest toilet at Clarno put-in (RM 109.2). Campfires restricted to fire pans October 1-May 31.
