LOS BURROS #1 (Trailhead) Additional Info: Los Burros Campground is located at the edge of a beautiful meadow at 7,900 feet elevation in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The area is characterized by scattered aspen trees and large ponderosa pines. The campground features 10 sites on a first-come, first-served basis with no camping fee. Amenities include vault toilets and picnic tables at each site. No potable water is available on-site; campers must bring their own water. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, though seasonal access typically runs May through October depending on snow and road conditions. A 14-day stay limit applies. Pack-in/pack-out trash policy. Horse camping is permitted. The Los Burros Trailhead provides access to the surrounding trail system. Historic remnants of a Forest Service Ranger Station built between 1909 and 1910 are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
