Forest Road 904 in LBJ National Grasslands offers dispersed boondocking sites along a loop on a ridge with 4-5 spots, including some large enough for RVs. Managed by U.S. Forest Service, it's primitive camping with no services, hookups, water, or electricity. Fires may be allowed in makeshift rings. Surrounded by open fields, oak trees, grasslands, and nearby lakes like Black Creek Lake. Accessible by vehicle on maintained roads. Pack in/pack out and follow Leave No Trace principles. Additional Info: Dispersed camping is free and first-come, first-served. Some areas blocked by USFS but this loop remains open. Phone service available. Pets allowed. Short drive to Decatur for supplies.
