Lava Wall Beach is a boat-in camping area on the north shore of Catalina Island. The name comes from the rock wall behind the beach that looks like red lava rock. The only way to get to Lava Wall Cove is by boat or in a kayak. There are no toilets or running water at this beach and camp fires are prohibited (camp stoves are ok). Reservations are required to camp in this cove. Snorkeling and scuba diving is possible at both ends of Lava Wall Beach. Additional Info: Located 8.1 miles from Avalon and 4.5 miles from Two Harbors. Managed by Catalina Island Company/Conservancy. No dogs allowed. Picnic tables available.
