Lantis Spring Campground
About this site
Lantis Spring Campground is situated in the Long Pines Unit of the Sioux Ranger District in the far southeastern corner of Montana, approximately 5 miles north off Tie Creek Road. The campground sits at an elevation of 6,000 feet and encompasses about 6 acres of ponderosa pine forest. Lantis Spring flows through the campground, providing a water source that can be treated or filtered. The campground features 4 individual campsites and 2 group sites, all available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground has accessible vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own water or treat water from the spring. No fees are charged for camping. With 50-foot parking spurs and open parking areas, the campground can accommodate trailers and RVs. A 16-day stay limit applies. Access is weather-dependent and winter conditions may prevent entry during snow events. Additional Info: Located on Custer Gallatin National Forest near the South Dakota border.
