Lane Cove Campground
About this site
Lane Cove Campground is a backcountry campsite located on the north shore of Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. The site features 5 first-come, first-served tent sites accessible only by foot via the Lane Cove Trail (which connects to the Greenstone Ridge Trail) or by canoe/kayak. The campground provides seasonal composting toilets, a water source, and food storage lockers. Campfires are prohibited; only self-contained stoves are permitted. A free overnight camping permit is required. During peak season (June 1 through September 17), stays are limited to one night. Pets are not allowed. The terrain is uneven and rough with no accessible facilities. Isle Royale is one of the most remote national parks in the country, and visitors must be prepared for unpredictable Lake Superior weather and limited services.
