Lake Vermilion Site 18
About this site
Lake Vermilion Site 18 is one of six backcountry campsites maintained by the U.S. Forest Service on Lake Vermilion in Superior National Forest. These remote sites are accessible only by boat and equipped with fire rings, tent pads, and latrines. Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control. Group size limited to 9 people or fewer. No potable water available; boil or filter water. Pack out all garbage. Permits required year-round for Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness entry. Additional Info: Lake Vermilion spans 40,000 acres with 365 islands. Overnight parking available at Moccasin Point and Black Duck Bay.
