Lake Vermilion Site 1
About this site
Lake Vermilion Site 1 is one of six backcountry campsites on Lake Vermilion in Superior National Forest, Minnesota. These sites are accessible only by boat and equipped with fire rings, tent pads, and latrines. Pack out all garbage. Group size limited to 9 people or fewer. Dogs allowed but must be controlled. Additional Info: Lake Vermilion spans 40,000 acres with 365 islands. Permits required year-round for Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness entry. No potable water available; boil or filter water. Overnight parking at Moccasin Point or Black Duck Bay.
