Lake McSwain Recreation Area is one of Central California's best kept secrets. Featuring a marina, general store, and food service. Located just six miles from the town of Snelling. Unlike other lakes, Lake McSwain is an after bay and its water levels are not affected by local water conditions, making it the perfect spot for fishing, swimming, or relaxing family picnics by the water. The campground has 111 camping and RV sites, including 65 water-electric hookup sites. Amenities include free hot showers, fish cleaning station, restroom facilities, children's playground, swimming beach area, kayak rentals, boat launch ramp and parking, and day use picnic area with parking, tables, barbecue grills, event pavilions, horseshoe pits, and barbecue pit rental. Check-in time is after 4PM and check-out is before 2PM. Lake McSwain is a 10MPH lake with no sport watercrafts allowed.
