Lake Margrethe State Forest Campground
About this site
This rustic campground features a lakefront picnic area and great opportunities for fishing and paddling. The campground is heavily wooded and most of the campsites have direct access to the lake. The Manistee River and Au Sable River are nearby and offer excellent canoeing and fishing opportunities. There are numerous canoe liveries available in the Grayling area. There are 37 sites for tent, small trailer and large trailer use. There are 9 walk-in sites that require you to hike in from a designated trailhead. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Additional Info: Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations. Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk. One camping unit and six people are allowed per site. All registrations processed online or via phone no earlier than 8 a.m. on the day of arrival. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, check and cash accepted.
