Lake Keomah State Park Campground
About this site
Lake Keomah State Park Campground is a 366-acre park featuring an 84-acre lake in south-central Iowa near Oskaloosa. The campground offers 44-63 campsites with both electric (37 hookups) and non-electric options, modern showers, flush restrooms, and a trailer dump station. Amenities include fire rings with grills on each site, picnic areas, playgrounds, boat ramps, fishing jetties, and multi-use trails. The park is pet-friendly and offers year-round camping, though water-dependent facilities are winterized November 1 - March 31. Many facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is currently undergoing a major lake reconstruction project through spring 2026 to improve water quality and fishing habitat, with the beach, lodge, and shelters temporarily closed during renovations.
