Lake Jacksonville Recreation Area is a public campground maintained by the City of Jacksonville, located approximately 3 miles from downtown Jacksonville. The facility features 27 camping facilities including 10 enclosed shelters, 10 RV pads, and 7 camping sites. All facilities have water and electricity, with the majority featuring barbecue pits. The area includes restroom facilities with showers, a swimming pier, sand beach, and three boat ramps. Lake Jacksonville spans 1,325 acres and is surrounded by wooded areas and open spaces, offering opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and tubing.
