Laguna West 3

Laguna West 3 is a hike-in backpacking campsite in Big Bend National Park's Chisos Mountains. Located approximately 3.5 miles from the Basin Trailhead via the Laguna Meadow Trail (or 6.8 miles via the Pinnacles and Colima Trails), the site accommodates a maximum of 4 people and 1 tent. The campsite is situated in open chaparral woodland under a small grove of pinyon pines, providing good shade and nice views of Emory Peak. A solar-composting pit toilet is located near the spur trail. No water is available at the site; visitors must carry adequate water (suggested 1 gallon per person per 24 hours). No wood or ground fires are permitted, and pets are not allowed on park trails. Bears and other animals are frequently seen in this area, so food and items must not be left unattended.
