Laguna West 1
About this site
Laguna West 1 is a small backpacking campsite in Big Bend National Park's Chisos Mountains, accommodating a maximum of 4 people and 2 tents. The site is secluded and located under a small grove of pinyon pines for shade. It is accessed via the Laguna Meadows Trail, approximately 3.5 miles from the Basin Trailhead (or 6.8 miles via the Pinnacles/Colima Trails). The Laguna West area is open chaparral woodland with excellent views. No water is available anywhere in the Laguna Meadows/Laguna West area; visitors must carry at least 1 gallon per person per 24 hours. No toilets, fires, or amenities are provided at this site. A bear-proof food locker is available. Pets are not allowed on trails. Backcountry regulations are strictly enforced.
